Purely by chance I was looking throught the 'Fiat 126 forum' (often has very interesting tuning articles) when I came across a VERY worrying article entitled ARMAGEDDON by the Association of Car Enthusiasts (ACE) concerning proposed new EU laws regarding engine tuning and car modifying. I strongly advise people to view this information because if these iniquitous laws come into force, we very shortly will not be able to drive cars with ANY modifications on the road. Our hobby employs approx. 28,000 people with a turnover of approx £4.3bn and exports of £1.0bn--- ANNUALLY, and if allowed to die, will put a lot of people on the dole, remove a fairly substantial income from the government and, if the skills involved are allowed to die, will never be replaced. The ACE website has a basic-form letter that one can use to send to MP/MEPs--we only have about 6 weeks and once the proposed law has had 2 unopposed readings it will become law--and just to make it more difficult to fight, because a lot of the law has allready been proposed, often quietly on-lin only regarding other laws, it does not need to be proposed again and discussed!! Use the letter and write to your MP/MEP and get them to do what they were voted in for--representing us.:bang:
