Technical Veering?

Technical Veering?

the problem is clearly the lower wishbone AKA track control arm, specifically the ball joint; the symptoms are classical; you will need to replace both sides; do not just replace the ball joint, replace the whole arm; it might be possible to just change the bushes and the ball joint but not worth the hassle and you would need a hydraulic press....

you will need a ball joint separator (few pounds in any motor factors); remove the nut from the ball joint completely first then put a non-locking nut back on a few threads to stop the end burring over when you hit it; insert the separator and hit this and the nut; hot water may help; when inserting the new ball joint do not hit it in as you will damage the joint; just push and let the nut pull it in where it will self jam and you can tighten to the correct torque; the other bolts should be left loose and then tightened with the wheels on the ground....
