I think that the answer will depend upon how the immobiliser function has been disabled. It is possible to purchase plug & play ECU,s, so that would suggest a negative answer, however I seem to remember reading on this forum, of at least one poster being told to retain the code receiver connection.

It is not the code receiver that does the immobilising, it is the ECU that requires a coded signal repeated back, which the code receiver only does, if it has recognised the key.

I fixed my code receiver failures with contact cleaner. Did you try this relatively simple approach?

no not tried that as far as I know the immobiliser has been disabled from the ecu so I’m wondering if it could be a broken or loose wire I have changed numerous sensors and having code reader check later today

So did your van start fine then you asked for immo delete on ecu? Now it wont start?
Or is there a whole back story?

You should take the advise of the ECU company that did the "de immobilise" job.
Many years ago I had an Iveco Daily done and I was instructed before refitting ECU and battery connections to ensure all wiring related was disconnected which on that one meant the wire from the antenae ring around key hole and the immobiliser control unit which on those was separate to the Bosch ECU, so no chipped key and vehicle was 100% reliable afterwards.
Specialist was emphatic that ECU must not be refitted with those items connected!
As yours may be different then as I said, take advise of supplier.

In initial post @Hol said that it is a 2.0 diesel 2005, so it has to be 2.0jtd. which is a PSA RHV.
So a Peugeot/Citroen 8 valve engine, I have the 16 valve RHK version in an 08 Citroen Dispatch and previously in a 2010 Fiat Scudo.
The reason I asked for the engine series was I thought some used the Fiat 2.0 litre engine?:)

Not mentioned in Wikipedia, but to be certain perhaps @Hol could check the vehicle VIN plate, where the engine type will be shown next to the heading "Motore". Unless engine has been changed this will be definitive.
