General Value of a B

General Value of a B

Even the youngest Bs are now nearly 8 years old. At that kind of age, the value of any car depends on things like condition, mileage, specification, colour & service history. Also factor in the time of year - Bs always fetch more in the spring/summer. Most Fiats are only worth pennies at that kind of age, so the fact that Bs still fetch decent money is a testament to their desirability and relative scarcity.

The best guide, as you suggest, is to look in the classifieds (pistonheads, autotrader etc), although this won't tell you what price they're actually selling for (ebay's useful for that, as you can search for completed auctions).

Barchetta prices can be hit or miss, a lot depends on the time of year colour spec, I have been living in France for a while now and the prices here are stupidly high, if I sold my B here it is worth around 8000€, crazy, in the UK maybe worth £4k. DTR are selling one with a lot less spec than mine for an exorbitant amount of money.
Have a look at this site in France for some of the prices.

Hi Spiderboy. I bought mine about a year ago now and spent a while looking. I bought the fifth one I saw and this is what I learnt about Barchetta prices...

Early non facelifted cars on no reserve auctions on ebay seem to struggle to get to £2k. About £1500 seems the norm. These cars usually look fairly tired.

Early non facelifted cars as classified adverts on ebay and auto trader range from £2k - £3.5k for private sale cars (and often seem to be advertised for a long time). The same cars being sold by dealers seem to be about £2.5k - £4k. These never seem to sell. Of the 11 or so Barchettas on Autotrader right now, 4 at dealers were for sale listed at the same prices before I bought mine 12 months ago!!

Facelifted cars seem to be advertised almost always by dealers between about £4k and £8k. I only recall one private facelift car going through a non reserve auction on ebay and it made £3400.

Of the five I went to see the first 4 had all had suspect paint blowovers and clearly had filler in them in various places. Price and condition seem unrelated to each other. The one I bought was the cheapest of the five and arguably the best condition. That said the outer body looked fine but the car needed epic welding underneath when the entire inner rear arches literally crumbled to pieces in my hands... I have no faith that the other four would have been any better.
