I'm looking for reliable, valid specs for the Uno Turbo Mk1 (1301) engine. Things like bore/ring/bearing tolerances for standard and available oversizes. Also, proper bolt/nut torques.

I don't trust anything in the Haynes manual, since they can't even get the bore size right in the turbo addendum.

It is right in the Haynes manual ;) It says 1301 turbo bore is same as 1372 ;)

I recon you have made the all too common mistake of reading about the nat asp 1299 / 1301 engine which is completely different bore and stroke. It's all in the supplemental.

For the 1301cc (turbo) see page 237 in the orange haynes / 13.?? in crap red haynes under 1301cc Turbo Bore 80.5 stoke 63.9 (63.8 for 1299)

There is also an auto data Uno manual which is spot on for the MK1 (y)

All I have is a scan, but I assume it was the red manual because the supplement is 13.4. It says in the supplement 1299/1301 (70,Turbo and i.e.) is 86.4mm bore which I know is wrong. Compression of 7.7 looks right for a turbo though. This makes me suspect any other information in the supplement for this engine.

Do you have a part number for the auto data manual? I'd like to order one. Do you have a good source for the manual that will ship to the US?

it's probably well out of print. It only covers the MK1 which ended production at the end of 1989

You could always ask the seller if they will post to the US, and if not I'll send if on at your cost if you like.(y)

What's an Uno doing in the USA? Fiat launched the Uno there and it symbolises Fiat pulling out of the USA market no?

Ouch, $15 shipping. There's still 5 days to the auction, maybe if the price stays at 99p.

I imported the Uno motor (and transmission). Nobody told me '89 had a major transmission change though, so the transmission is useless (top shift). I could have saved a bundle if I had known this.

you never asked on here :p

I'm guessing you want to put it in an X/19

Something I saw last week was Lewey's Tjet engined Uno. he was using the new cable gear selector on the top shift instead of the bars. It's the newer gearbox from a Punto 1.4 abarth turbo (i think), but I think he told me you can make this setup work with the proper Uno turbo gearbox

If that’s the case you could be first to the try and fit it in an X19. the topshift box and use cable shift. Topshift is said to be much stronger than the old Strada based bottom shift.

This is his build thread but your probs better off PMing him for info on the gearshift (y) https://www.fiatforum.com/uno/245531-1368cc-16v-fire-turbo-t-jet-uno-conversion.html

Yeah, if I had only known what to ask where... Oh well!

I may look into cable shift at some point. For now I'm just trying to get the motor ready, then I'll run it with the Faza 5-speed conversion tranny in the car. I've become an old fart so I'm not as hard on a car as I was. Hopefully existing tranny will survive long enough to get motivated on the UNO one.

Are these any use? Sorry they are a bit messy, my scanner doesnt like thick books!
