yes its always a good idea to work your way through the planned maintenance schedule whenever you buy a car, at least checking the condition of all servicables. especially at 113k.

if the belt is the same setup as petrol models, you simply turn the tensioner using a spanner on its nut, this will take the tension from the belt and allow you to slip it off, although its not as easy peasy as it sounds, and i hurt my finger quite a lot last time :)

The tensioner being the bolt type thingy with an alan key hole in the end is it ?? any idea wot size spanner as I need to go borro one that size ??

on my car it is 13mm, when you try to turn the nut the whole tensioner moves. the tensioner is the only pulley that could possibly be the tensioner, the others are outer crankshaft pulley, alternator, power steering pulley, and oil pump pulley. realistically none of them can be mistaken for a tensioner.

just above the tensioner wheel there is what looks like an elongated bolt facing me about 1"+ in size with an alan key in the centre is this what I need to turn. If i turn the bolt in the centre of the wheel it begins to undo ??

Given in cant move the tensioner and scared to take the pulley off case I cant get it back :(

Any ideas anyone ??

Getting no where with this, aparently its the auxilary belt, the new one that came with the car is a Gates 6pk1763 hope its the right one.

Have looked for a haynes on this model but cant find one so anyone know of any instructions on how to change this auxilary belp PLEASE !!!

Its really not surprising no one can explain it to me if the drawings are what they have to refere to.

Can see the first drawing and it makes sense and I believe the tensioner is item 16. Drawng 2 means nothing I am sorry. As I am neither familiar with the drawings or parts of this engine I have no alternative but to head for the garage. Sorry you wernt able to help

the allen key in the centre holds the tensioner to the plate
the Large nut on the out side slackens the tension.
This is easyier said than done.
A ring key will not go on and open ended slips off!
Run car with belt off if no noise then you have a few choices left
