Hey Guys,
A friend of mine showed me his car audio system the other day and I was asstounded! Him being a bit of an audiofile, he had wired up a Bose Accoustimass 25 series 1 home cinema subwoofer (passive) to a standard 12v car amplifier (600w peak alpine thingy) and very successfully managed to get some AMAZING bass from this subwoofer. I think the subwoofer was 150w RMS and the Amp was giving it 140w bridged at 4 ohms.
I was wondering..
is there any definite benefits of setting up a I.C.E system like this? I can imagine it would, but applying a reasonably similar wiring set up, would it be possible to run something like this:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Samsung-P...iFiSpeakers&hash=item336f891aa8#ht_704wt_1039
off a Small amp without the need of a capacitor of any kind?
I have googled it, and you get ICE newbs saying you need a 12v/240v Inverter and need to spend THOUSANDS on getting it to work. (it says passive on the box :s )
Cheers
Tom
