Using both boost valves and ecotek

Hi all

ive just purchased a 1.6 bravo sx and it has a boost valve on it, i was wondering if i could also add a ecotek valve on there to?

Don't bother, they do nothing.

boost valve i dont know but ecotek valve i found works quite well made a diference to my fuel esp after i'd put the induction kit on it droppped big time, put on the ecotek and its virtually back to standard fuel consumtion

Tom - at last! Someone else who's seen through them!

Viewed along the same lines as the ebay resistor mod. If car manufacturers found these devices actually worked, don't you think they'd be integrated into the car's induction system at design to give free extra bhp and mpg? It'd sell more cars for them....

If it's giving extra mpg with an ecotec, that's because it's allowing unmetered air in and running weak. This is A Bad Thing for an engine.

A pukka Angel remap (or Superchip or BBR Starchip etc. if Angel can't do yours) will be an alternative that actually works properly.

Well, tell a lie, they DID! SU with the HIF38 carb had a very similar thing to lean the mix out on light throttle and it worked well.

But someone forgot to tell ecotek that EFI cars have ways to tell whats going on with the engine

And on a MAP controlled engine like the 1.4 or 1.6 the ecotek does NOTHING. The ECU uses the manifold pressure to calculate the airflow, the ecotek alters the manifold pressure and the ECU adjusts the fuel to suit the new airflow. Oops!

And before everyone else goes 'how do you know Tom, you're full of sh*t!' I tried an ecotek A month with and a month without, NO difference, so flogged it.
