Can someone please explain to me how this thing actually works? I haven't even looked twice at it because I haven't a clue..

If you have a USB and put music on it then you simply plug it onto the USB slot in the glove box and then use the source button on the steering wheel until comes up media play on the dash. Music should now play.

Files must be MP3 or WMA format and think the drive needs to be fat32 (usually standard format for usb drives)

Looks like your GP is equipped with Blue & Me... does it have a windows button on the left side of the steering wheel? If thats the case, you should have two USB slots in the glove box. The one on the left hand side can be used to plug in a memory stick full of music files to play via the media player. All music files need to be mp3 or wma in order to work. The USB slot on the right I think is just for installing updates for the Blue & Me software :)

Oh, looks like I'll be having a play about with this then, cheers!

No problem, you can also use your phone via USB but will need an adaptor which roughly 30 or so. If you notice the mileage starts flashing don't panic this more than likely the system doesn't like the drive or a song or two. This is also could be battery is faulty or needs can alignment. More than likely its the USB if not done it before. Don't update the software (unless go to dealer) as can cause mileage flash intermittent (module and ECU playing funny). Mileage flashing doesn't effect the cars performance etc so nothing worry about (mine does it because bad update and dealer checked it out and said all fine don't worry about it)
