has the car been seviced recently spark plugs ,ht leads etc.is the engine getting hot on the gauge or just by judging under the bonnet?do you mean the fan inside the car only blows cold air or the fan doesn't blow at all?get back to us and hopefully we can help

the marea has'nt had a recent service as we only bought it from a garage 3 months ago. since this problem started the fans have been blowing cold air, and the temperature is just registering on the gauge. jennione PM'd this reply so i'm posting on her behalf;)
am i a nice custard?:D

Hi,
Could be water pump or a blockage in cooling system.
CHECK THIS URGENTLY!!
If the engine is stalling due to a coolant fault then you can end up with an expensive lump of metal very quickly. :(
Be careful when removing the header tank cap, cos if the water is boiling you could get a dangerous blowback.

Once you have proved the cooling system get back to us and we will have another look at your problem.:D

The engine gauge is registering hot after 5 10 mins with engine running on tickover, the water in radiator looks fine can't see any signs of leaks the radiator fan does work, the heater fans only blow cold air out even when set to warm. [?]:(

i would do a coolant flush/change just to take it out of the mix and probably the thermostat while you are at it.as for the cold air from the heater it could be an airlock in which case hopefully a coolant change would help, the cables that connect from the heater controls on the dash could be loose/broken so its not moving the flaps to give you warm air,or as i said on my PM reply a leaky heater matrix, did you check if the carpets around the centre console are wet/damp?

Thanks custard boy but ive taken car to garage and they said it was head gasket luckly it's covered in the warranty as for the heater matrix the carpets near centre console are dry but when i get car back from garage ill give them another check:)
