Hi Folks,

I run a small business, transporting clients on weekend trips in Scotland taking photographs. I need to replace my ageing Pug 806 with 100K on the clock and have put down a deposit on a Ulysse.

The Fiat is a 2.0 JTD with 10K (yes, 10K..) on the clock on a 53 plate (former Motability) priced at £8995.

As I will often be carrying 5 passengers, lots of gear and a 560 litre roof box, I'm concerned that the 2.0 unit won't be up to the job - although my 2.0 Pug unit has coped admirably for 3 years.

Also, what should I expect MPG-wise? - and if you have experience of this unit, please take some time to let me know a couple of reasons why I SHOULDN'T buy the Fiat !

Many thanks,

Andy.

Probably Stu is best person to give you details on mpg etc...however from a tech point of view they are dreaded cause of the electrics although to be honest the electrical faults are common/well known & easily solved.
Being a ex-mobility car with low mileage it will of been regulary serviced etc...I think you could do alot worse than this.Have a browse through Ulysee forums.

p.s.I see them as Peugeots with a Fiat badge ;)

Thanks for that - have spent the last 2 hours looking through the forums !

Can you expand on electrical problems ? - last thing I need is to be stuck on the Outer Hebrides with 5 punters and a car that has electrical gremlins ! - much appreciated !

The main one is water leaking from rear washer tubing onto parking sensor as it upsets CAN system...however this fault wont leave you stranded.Locking(normally tailgate) & elec windows can cause problems but again will not leave you stranded. Some in-tank lift pumps can go wrong but not a common problem (no more/less than any other make) infact when I look back I can only recall one Ulysee getting towed into the garage.
There are niggly little things like seat trims etc but overall its a nice car to drive, there is a couple of recalls which have probably been done on this car but just check just incase.

Can you expand on this - what is a CAN ? - is this unit housed in the rear door and water drips down onto it from the washer tubing ?

I need to know these kind of things if I'm to have the confidence to buy this car next week !

Thanks both for your time so far.

Andy.
