Yesterday my braking system started to fail on me. When I brake the car brakes then the pedal sinks to the floor and braking becomes weeker. when I release the brake and re-apply the same thing happens.

Thanks in advance

First Off - Check level of brake fluid reservoir for depletion; if low then check all wheels and the brake master cylinder for leaking brake fluid.

If no fluid leaks probably the seals in the master cylinder defunct - needs to be changed.

Thanks peat.
The brake fluid had gone. I sat for a hour after refilling pumping the brake pedal and the fluid hasnt dropped but the brake is still not working. I think its bus time until the snow goes.

Check for leaks at each wheel.

I had leaks at the rear left drum, I changed my rear brake wheel cylinder which was leaking, the whole drum was soaked in brake juice, causing the brake to feel like you descried.

Search for rear drum brake for how to remove the drum.
