How much for an R-plate HGT?

Guest
How much do you guys think an HGT would fetch that's done 50.9k, had it's cambelt changed not even 30-40miles ago, with good bodywork etc with the personal plate m7 hgt? (The plate is actually worth a few bob too)

If it doesn't go for much, i'll give it to my mummy and get an R5 gt turbo for myself.

Cheers guys,
Dean

Yes, you are a dumbass ;)

This one is on autotrader, close to me.

1997 R Reg
FIAT Bravo 20V HGT

3 Doors, Manual, Hatchback, Petrol, 52,000 miles, Grey. ABS, Adjustable seats, Adjustable steering column/wheel, Air conditioning, Alloy wheels, Anti theft system, Central locking, Cloth upholstery, Colour coding - Body, Driver airbag, Electric mirrors, Electric windows, Foglights, Head restraints, Headlight washers, Heated seats, Leather seats, Metallic paintwork, Power assisted steering, Radio, Remote locking, Spoiler.
£2,995.

There are a few 97/98 HGT's listed of around £3500, but they have higher mileage (around £62-£69)

Your plate will obviously add value to the above...

Daz

So maybe around or even a little above 4k?
I think considering the recent (& expensive) cambelt change with relatively low miles, it would be more than reasonable!

As i say, i may just give it to my mum who's looking for a better car than her current one. Guess that way i don't have to see it fully leave!

Cheers

I wouldnt say much over £3.5k But i aint an expert on HGT's! Does yours have leather and a/c...because that one for £3k has!

Paul R

Nah, mine's pretty standard. No a/c or leather - but is in good condition

Bought it for 4.3k this time last year, and i've only done 2k miles in it. But though the fact i've changed the cambelt&exhaust might help it. Thing is i have very little spare time to actually sell it!
Usually too tired or busy.

Could always give it a go, or just give it to mum. I'd be happier with the latter if i couldn't get decent money for it. Spent sooo much on it recently!

If you get offered £3500 for her, snap their had off. I would say you would be lucky to get £3000 for her.
I am not trying to **** you off, I have a 'R' HGT with leather and aircon and if I got £2500 for her I'd be quite impressed, and I've just spent £1800 on repairs :( Mine has done 98k miles though !!

Erm, well that makes a mahoooosive difference!!!!

The fact you've almost done double the distance, i wouldn't pay more than 2k for it! Sod the leather! Probably worn to some kinda under-coth anyway after all those miles!

Mine might have done 98k miles, but it doesn't look it. The interior is still in ferckin good condition. I have had her from new, so I think that's why.
The exterior aint too bad for a car with a shed load of miles, a few bumps and scratches but thats all.

I think around £3000-£3200k would be around the right place for a private sale.

Daz

To Be honest Dean, you will be lucky to get over £3k, Because the one above is £3k with simuliar miles with a/c and leather! so i doubt you will get anything over that! Number plates very rarely add value, if it is worth some money then try selling it seperatly, you will probably work out better off that way! you are going to be hard pushed to get more than £3k, even if its immaculate! sorry, just being honest!

I bought a 99t 1.8 hlx with 48k on the clock for £3k...ok it aint a HGT but the 1.8's hold there value better because they are cheaper to insure and its 2years newer than yours! I doubt i will get 3K for it now, even though i have spent about the same again on mods!

Paul R

£3k?!!! WTF!!!!!!

If that's what it'd go for, then there's not much point. Would've thought the very recent cambelt change would've kept it in a similar price bracket.

Oh well, should give it to mum then! What a nice son i am :)

The prices on bravos have dropped majorly recently! i look on autotrader every now and then and think i should have waited longer before i bought mine! i have lost so much money already!

The recent cambelt will help it sell more than add value, advertise at the price you want and see what reaction you get! i hope i am wrong!

All the best!

Paul R

Yeah, that's probably to best idea.

What i don't like is the process of selling it! Having to meet people to sell the lovely car and finding the actual time to do it! Always too lazy, er, i mean tired to do that kinda stuff!

:) Smiley Dean wants shot of his mota!

"Cloth upholstery & Leather seats?"

Dont you get leather door cards with the leather seats?

It also said it was a 155 HGT, which it obviously isnt.

Daz

I saw one at a dealer on an R plate with 45K miles in perfect condition with a service and cambelt change done prior to the car being put up for sale. I nearly bought it myself. Easily the best 147HGT ive seen for sale nationwide on paper and possibly one of the best full stop. The fact that it was 3800quid means as a private seller 3000 is what you'll get for yours.

to be honest that almost sounds like a one-in-a million type of thing.
It'd be silly to sell it for 3k at private.
Sounds like if it did go for 3k that there's something more wrong eith it

Not true! I saw a red R plate 147 in sheffield at a dealer with leather interior, FSH 47K miles for 2995. I drove it...it was fine. and as far as i could tell it was in v.good condition. Then theres a bronze 147 i drove in stockport, priced at 3000 albeit with some SH but only 45K. Good condition also.

Ironically the worst example was an X reg 155 with NO SH, 56K miles and badly worn interior and it was up at 7995 (carcraft)!!!!!!!
