neon bar, what can i wire it to???

Guest
on my sub box i wanna put this neon bar thingy on it, but like most crap from shops it connects to the cigarette lighter bit, what can i use as a substitute, im quite happy to snip the end off the neon wire but where can i connect it, i thought the stereo remote....

any ideas?

Re: Re: Untitled

Any 12v source will do the job. So amp power cable, side light cable, boot light etc.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Untitled

the bootlight for the possitive connection and for the negative, the chassis of the car. If you do this it will only be on when u can see it!

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Untitled

i would take the boot light out and wire it there. i wouldn't use the switching wire from the head unit as this can only take a limited current and if you exceed that you could damage your head unit.

I would go with Chris & Craig on this one, good bit of finkin' that.

Only if you don't have electric mirrors.
If you lift of the panel infront of the hand break, (that hold money)you'll find a wiring loom,

Black is earth and blue with red and red with blue are live, i wired my dash neons with this and put 2 micro switches onto the panel

wonder how many times i would get pulled if replaced the break light at the top with a bright blue neon bar

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Untitled

twice as often as you use the middle pedal.

I've got 2 10" neons that i'm mounting above the footwells, how difficult is it to connect them to the interior lights so they come on when the doors are opened?

sy b...

i have found the loom that you mean, i dont have elecy mirrors, does this mean that the 2 connectors under the coin holder that are free with four wires in each can be used? ive just had a play around and i cant get it working, the boot light works fine, cheers for that by the way but my mate has also given me 2 neon tubes that i also want to power up and i think under the coin holder would be ideal if only i could get it to work
