Hi, I have a problem with my uno mia 1100cc. I have had to replace the distributor 3 times in the last 2 months. The machenic tells me it burnt the module on the distributor body. does any one know what the problem could be. i'm really desperate.

thanks in advance

The module is failing because of electrical stress caused by a fault elsewhere in the ignition system. Most likely it is the ignition coil at immediate fault. You should also check the plugs (correct gap, condition) leads, distributor cap and rotor arm. If there is any doubt as to their condition, replace them too. Personally I'd replace the lot, the extra cost of plugs leads cap and arm should be small compared to the coil and distributor, but you have to consider your budget and how long you are going to keep the car.A break in lead or plug can cause excessive voltage in the coil causing its insulaton to breakdown and the distributor to be damaged. It's difficult to check the coil without specialist equipment.

Thanks for your advice. I'll replace them and see if it works.

Thanks again
