hi guys,

I picked up my 97% mint uno turbo mk1 last weekend :) i love it, theres picks in the members motors section.
Come across troubles already tho lol.
rear brakes... the pads had worn down so far that it was running metal on metal, on removing the pads we found the piston which needs twisting doesn't seem to want to be twisted back in (n) any hints at all?

as i say theres pic in members motors but heres a pic anyway :p

Ace choice Alex!! Welcon to Uno antix :D

Scuderia mentioned jacking car up, letting bleed nipple offout some brake fluid to allow the piston to return, then bleed brakes...

Never had the luxury - will change soon no dought LOL thread here http://www.turbocollective.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=143

I'd agree about the External De-modding(y)

Unos aren't renowned for their brakes...

Hell, I stripped and cleaned my 70SX front brakes at the same time I did the clutch. I meticulously cleaned all the sliding wedges and sliding surfaces, checked the pistons were moving freely, cleaned the pad holders, re-assembled with Copperslip, deglazed the pads (didn't need doing but while they were out...), whacked the whole lot back together and...

...they were just the same as my 45S brakes which hadn't been touched

To be fair, the brakes work fine but are very 'wooden' in their feel. Stamp on them and they WILL lock up, but even my old Cinquecento Soleil had better feel in its brakes.

Still, you buy a UT to accelerate quickly not to stop! :p
