Hey all
I just got a Fiat Uno 1.0 start
3dr white hatch back.
I've began work on the grill and i have Xenon Side Lights, soon to have Xenon Heads.
The Body work has Very Little Rust, only that of on the door.
I have wired Footwell Neons in the interior of the car, fed of of the Side Lights soon to be switchable.
I have just bought some Aleissio 16s for it, Needs some cleaning and TLC but should look sweet!
(y)
Will post some pics up soon :)
Anyone know an Insurance quote on the an Uno 1.0? Im only 15 so i can get a quote.
cheers lol
:D

Hi, welcome to the Uno forum!
Good choice of car, starting early there aren't you ;)

In New Zealand you can get your driver's license at 15... and insurance isn't complusory. Might be cheaper to move here!

Are your neons actually neons or are they cold-cathode fluorescent lights (much brighter)?

16" wheels will probably push the premium up and tyres will be expensive... but it might depend on where you live. E.g. country village in Devon is probably less of a theft risk than Fulham (if Jeremy Clarkson was to be believed, at least).

Thanks :)

But the risk of theft using more than the one locking nut (say 2 on each wheel) would surely lower Insurance?

Ok now i want to move their! :D
I did have Cathecode but i broke them! :(
So now i have these LED things, which are pretty bright. Although i do have actualy Neons...somewhere - got them from US

Cheers UN

Got my New Alessio 16s fitted and cleaned, heres my pic with them on.
The Uno is still jacked up, so thts the reason for the large ap in the arches.
Should be getting my stuff to work on grille this weekend!

Peace UN

I kind of like it but think multispoke are a little too fussy for the Uno. Simple, 5/6 spoke suit the car best in my opinion - see AlexGS uno in his sig for what I mean. A big improvement over steels all the same.

Couple of simple touches lose the Uno Start sticker ASAP and maybe lose the side rubbing strips for a cleaner line and find a mk2 turbo arch kit.

Keep up the good work and keep the pictures and updates coming.

Hi gav,

Although thepottleflump is kind about my wheels...
...I like yours! (y)
They're quite flat (rally-style), silver, and I think that makes them look neat and tidy. Mine are only 15s, wonder what tyres you have gone for, 195/45 just fitted mine... and good luck with cleaning the spokes!

I think it'll look great once it's lowered a bit and wow, you've gotta do something about that rear bumper! You can get a satin-black bumper paint which I've used, but on cars that live outdoors it starts to flake eventually and looks bad - so you can alternatively just soak repeatedly in silicone spray... easier... or my friend 'jjpheburn' has used Tyre Black sprayed through a spraygun  which seems to work OK.

Keep us updated but in the meantime, enjoy the festive season and stay safe... :)

the back bumper was painted slightly to see wt if would look like with painted bumpers...
I cant seem to find any kits (idealy a small one) for Unos for UK

Hey Numerouno, talking about lowering, if you're thinking about it, I've got a set of new unused (well ok about 10 miles to the MOT test centre and back) front and rear Sachs shocks and Jamex lowering springs (35mm-40mm drop). I bought and fitted to my mk1 before deciding to flog the car, I figured the bloke who bought didn't need them so removed and fitted standard (before he saw the car I'll add).

I've been looking at buying another Uno just to fit but that just seems a little silly especially since my car collection is already more than I can realistically manage. I'm just looking to recover some of what I paid and clear them out the garage so If you're interested drop me a PM or reply here.

sounds sweet man. how much are you looking for the lot?
because that is what im looking for, im aklso trying to find a kit which i posted a thread about

Cheers!

revive my thread i began with a nice update!
I have started work on my boot, and have 90% completed my grille. I just need to make sure its level and paint it.
The boot is being smoothed although im trying to get hold of one.
im gunna start to strip the interior as i dont want carpet in the back, id rather have the racing look.
I ripped out the ash tray to replace it with a alluminium plate for swtiches which will be connected to a solenoid for the boot which i need to desing a mounting frame to pop the boot open.

pics coming soon!

I reckon you should black out some of the spokes, maybe even all of the spokes and leave only the rim and the hub on show in silver... will look effective.

Think about some rear arch mods, you just need some bulging out by 1/4" or something otherwise they're gonna rub. alternatively cut back the arches and bond on some mk2 arches, will look mint.
