Technical Uno - LRP or unleaded?

Im using lrp in my 96 uno fire.i wana change 2 unleaded bt im nt sure if i can.any help?and does unleaded burn longer than lrp?thats what i heard

i used unleaded ion my 1990 uno fire, i never used lrp as i was told it was useless and would not offer the protection of proper 4 star which it was supposed to

All Unos from around 1986 are designed to run on unleaded. A 1996 Uno FIRE (UK model) will have a catalytic convertor fitted and will HAVE to be run on unleaded fuel else you risk damaging the cat. I assume 1996 SA models will be the same.

Ah. That's a big assumption. And there was no such thing as a 1996 UK Uno - they stopped in 1994?

As far as I know, a 1996 Uno in South Africa has a carburettor and no catalytic convertor. So basically, it's a '91 UK model.

It will run on unleaded, I definitely agree with that part, but it should be 95 octane unleaded.

But yes, according to Haynes all Unos (under certain conditions - ohv models in particular) can run on unleaded since 1986.

You are most welcome to join the Unleaded community (For a greener world) with your Uno - I drove a 1991 1372cc Sx (Mono Jetronic fuel injection ) - leaded & unleaded ; a 1996 Fire 1108cc - leaded & unleaded and lately a 1997 1372cc Sx (Carburetor) - leaded & unleaded - with no "unhealthy symptoms" on any of these vehicles... so forget all the nonsense about which is more tastier for the Uno.

Right, that would explain the engine running on when ignition turned off.
