Technical UNO front wiper motor 1 or 2 speed compatability?? Help please!!!

Hi all,

Does anyone know if there is a problem with fitting any front wiper motor to a mk 2 uno, mines a 1 speed plus int., think it is on it's last legs, but I know a lot of uno's had 2 spd plus int, just wondered if it would be possible to use either i.e. which ever i can get my hands on 2nd hand / cheap lol

Also, if anyone has one up for grabs, pls let me know I could paypal / cheque or ebay you for it

I'm fairly sure they are compatible. The two speed wipers have an extra wire for the slower speed but uses the same wiring plug (on a mk1 they did). If you fit a two speed wiper motor to a one speed car you'll still only have one speed plus intermittent. If you want two speeds you need the two speed wiper switch and the extra wire to the motor.

Again, this is from my knowledge of a mk1 but I'm fairly sure it will apply to a mk2 as well.
