Hello, Just recently the clutch shaft that goes into the gearbox has started vibrating like crazy with the engine running. The shaft is just where the peep hole is for the flywheel and is kept in place with a circlip. The vibration stops when the clutch is slightly or fully depressed. I think this shaft connects to the release bearing. Could the bearing be at fault? I recently had the slave cylinder replaced, but that has not come loose and the chrome shaft coming out of it seems fine. The chrome shaft from the slave cylinder connects to the shaft which vibrates. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

The clutch release fork is attached to the vertical shaft you're describing, as you can visualise. There are plastic bushings at the top and bottom of this shaft. Sounds to me like the top one has broken or worn. Perhaps you could remove the clutch operating arm (by undoing the circlip) and that will give access to the bush - 'borrow' one off another gearbox for comparison. These rarely fail, so good luck...
