the time has come for me to put my OE airbox aside and join the barryboy club and I want a bit of noise from my 20 fags a day 1.2 ;)

I cannot justify buying a K+N or pipercross as they are both stupidly priced and I'm not after performance gains of any sort (I know Tom, open air filters dont give any if less performance ;) ).

I've been looking at these today:

http://www.iconstyling.com/shopprodlist.asp?ID=34&MAINCATID=4&USERID=128520679383914658333333&TP=

They are all mega cheap and are exactly the same as K+N's inside, does anyone have any experience with them and with the adaptor necks that come with the kits, will it fit straight onto the existing pipework of my 1.2?

thanks in advance.

Dan

Isn't that what your biatch has? ;)

Remember, its truly pointless if you don't supply it with cold air.

Also my pet hate with k&n and universals is they usually have a ferking great step in them where the hose joins, this doesn't help airflow.

yes, I've tried explaining this to lee so many times now ;)
"open air" kits are more prone to sucking in hot air from around the bay meaning less power. but as I said, I'm not too fussed...just want a bit of noise over the sound of the hamster spinning round :)

it will be well ducted ;)

Reckon I might take mine out then, don't wanna go losing power wen I've only got 80bhp, need every horse possible lol.

Thats where mine came from ;)
Over standard I would say you can feel the difference more with this that you can with an open air cone style filter.
Doesn't make much noise tho, bar a little bit more of a sucking noise over standard :)
Utilises the good Existing OE airbox system which tom will tell u is good anyway :)

A worthwhile upgrade if you plan to service the filter every 8-10k miles :)
