General underneath cover for engine compartment

My wife drove through some flood water which ripped off the engine protector. will this need replacing or can i live with out it?

When I bought our Ulysse it was obvious that the undertray was - and had been - missing for some long time. It's fine without it, don't worry.

Mine has been missing for ages too and no problem yet !

It's only real purpose is to Hel keep the engine bay clean and tidyish. Shouldn't cause any harm it not being present
