Hi

I just bought a undercar neon kit from ebay was cheap so couldnt resist lol I aint all that electrical minded but I still give things a bash. Overall it has only got three wires to wire up and they are 2 red and 1 black but I thought there would have been more to it??

How would get it hooked up to my remote locking to when I unlock my car the neons come etc.??

Help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks Kirsty x

Do you want them to just flash when the central locking goes only if so its easy peasy but it would just be a couple of seconds flash.

If you wanna be able to use em seperate, It is possible to do that but if im thinking correctly this means you would need to wire up a secondary switch to put the neons on when you wanted them which in turn would mean there would be a constant live feed to the central locking if im thinking right which i think would be ok.

Heres a video in the first few seconds you can see how it operates with central locking then he has a wirless set up for the actual working of the neons.

Hi

Andi_F It was Audiowise that fitted my alarm so I thought of them first because they are really good been a good few times but it was I was looking to do it on the cheap because I am not working at the moment on the sick and I am not getting any sick pay so I dont have a penny to spare lol

Mr_A Ye thats looks good when the remote locking is used :) dont want it on the time obvisouly but I have this wee control thing. So how would I go about doing it like the video (flash when remote locking is used and then he turn them on fully using his control when he wants).

Thanks for all the help soo far very much appreciated.

Hey Kirsty, isnt too hard to be honest, you would just set them up as normal but with a seconary wire conected to your central locking (live feed) which bypasses the switch.

This would mean in order to turn them on normally you would use the switch as normal but when the central locking was activated it would bypass the main switch cause it to flash on for like a second.

Secondly... Abyss you CANT dance :p

I am hoping to get them done this weekend :) Ye defo get them again will look good on your white punto what colour would you get??

would assume it would be blue on the white grande :D

but to really **** the popo off get white on front red on the rears and amber on the sides then its all road legal and cant do **** as i contacted head of traffic police when i had mine installed hahah my ufo option let me shoose the colors out of 3 mill options or some crap like that so i had a box on the dashboard with a road legal setting hahah :D

Yea alot of the LED sets offer a road legal option, only thing is a prefer the glow of neons opposed to the dotting of leds personally

yup pro's and con's to both.

was thinking putting a set on the cab if i can actually get but guess we can wait and see

You would just wire them up as normal.

Black wire to ground and the reason theres 2 red will prob be for the switch.

so you will have:

Black > Ground
Red > Switch > Red > Positive

then just mount your switch.

to add the central locking you would need to find the live wire on the locking system in connect it to the red coming directly from the neons (before the switch).

My complementing colour is blue, so they would be blue again. I loved my old ones on my mk2, although i only got pulled once by the police and that was for the ones on my dash not the under car ones

Hey well since it was kinda of a nice day today I had a look under the car to see where my neon lights are going to clip onto and guess what there is absolute nothing!! Is there anything I can get to clip the noens onto but not having to damage the bodywork of my car help please hoping to get them started and finished tomorrow :)

Thanks Kirsty x

Yeah I know thought of that but as I said dont really want to start damaging the bodywork x

IIRC you wont damage it, theres a sil type thing underneath to attach them onto

hmmm.... do you think rather than drilling into it I could just use like an eyelet or something so then I could just cable tie the neons onto the wee extra bit lol :p x
