I have a 1992 Fiat Ducato camper with 2,5TD engine.
A while ago the speedometer wire snapped and I a bought a new wire.
The problem is that I cannot remove the broken wire from the gearbox.
Can someone tell me how to remove it?
There is a small bolt below the attachment point. Must that be removed in order to release the cable?

Thanks!

@bugsymike ?

I am guessing the wire speedo inner cable has snapped off flush with the speedo drive in gearbox, so you are just fitting an inner cable?
Usually the inner breaks due to damage to the outer through it being routed to tight a turn/angle.
If you are lucky you can pull the broken end out from the square drive part using long nose pliers.
If not you may have to take the drive from the gearbox by undoing the bolt in gearbox .
Note be very careful doing this not to drop the geasr down into the gearbox, try to bring it out as one unit and replace the same way, maybe with a blob of grease on return to keep it together?
Generally I have never had a problem but do be careful to locate and no the angle so it slides straight into place correctly.
With drive out, if broken end of cable is well meshed/damaged into the drive end, you may be able to screw a small self tapper into the damaged cable so you have something to pull on.
whether complete or just inner cable I always run oil down it.
