Hi Guys.Wonder if you can help.Weve just taken in a 2004 Ulysses. Its displaying the airbag light, and the corresponding, passenger airbag light on the steering wheel pod, plus the display is stating "Pass airbag deactivated"
We are not sure whether there is a fault, or simply the airbag has been turned off.The manual, doesnt mention anything, and the local Fiat dealer, couldnt find anything to help me either!:(

"Pass airbag deactivated" means that the passenger seat airbag has been deactivated, which you do if using an applicable rear-facing baby seat.

Have you tried opening the passenger door and reactivating it using your keys?

Ah! thanks for that.It reactivated by using the blip[ or simply the key? I looked for a keyhole, but couldnt find one.

Hi Stu.The plot thickens.I reactivated the pass airbag, via the key in the pass door gap. Both lights are still iluminated, and the display reads "pass airbag inactive" and "airbag fault" thinking that maybe an airbag ecu reset is the next move?

Had the same symptoms on my ulysse (same year 2004) managed to isolate the cause to the engine bay fuse box (complicated bit of kit as it turns out), prone to water damage as there is a drain hose situated above it and this can become dislodged (this was the case on mine). Both warning lights on regardless of whether the passenger airbag was activated or not (lights were amber) and on screen alerts. The fusebox may look ok from the outside but you have to remove it and separate the plastic body to see the corrosion to the circuit board it contains.
The fusebox is top left of the engine bay as you face the car from the front black plastic box about 6 inch square.
Replaced mine with new (about 2 months ago) and lights went out with no further recurrence of the issue.
If you have access to lexia the fault was "No Communication on Data B"

Hi Tommo
Thanks for the information.
Have the same problem with faulty passenger airbag in my Ulysse 2005. I checked the fuse box and I saw a bit of corrosion in one of the corners so probably is the same problem. Did you replace the fuse box yourself? How much was the fuse box?
Many thanks
Carlos

Hi Carlos,

Yes I changed it myself, cost approximately £130 from fiat (not a stock item so had to be shipped in).
Comes in two modules and I just purchased the top part and lid (holds the multi plugs and blade type fuses) the bottom part holds the maxi fuses and connections from the battery etc ( I did not change this as it had not sustained any water damage).
The following is a link to the parts on eper:http://eper.fiatforum.com/eper/navi...INT_MODE=0&EPER_CAT=SP&WINDOW_ID=1&GUI_LANG=3

The fuse box appears to be one piece in the diagram on eper but after ringing fiat they confirmed it is two modules so was able to order just the top module.

Hope this helps

Tommo
