I am about to change the headlights on a Ulysse ('04) does anybody know if there is a guide out there on how to replace the main units?

changing the headlights is easy but you will have to jack up car and put on axle stands then remove front wheels then wheelarch liners then undo two bolts (one on either side) just inside wing, you also have to remove panel above grill this is held in place by plastic pins which just pull out then three screws underneath of bumper then you can remove bumper by sliding it forward you will then get to headlights easily just a few bolts and one electric plug for each one .
hardest part is removing front bumper

good luck, if you need more info i can post on here

;) If the arch covers have not gone brittle you can leave the wheels on and just bend them out of the way to get to the bumper bolt. But jacking up will make the job alot easier to do.When you slide the bumper forward to remove best to mask tape the wings and have a second person to help.Good luck

That all sounds far too technical, now i know why i didn't even bother to attempt it myself, took mine to the local garage and let them do it for me instead!

Good luck with it though!

Many thanks to all of your advice and hints it really is appreciated- I intend to have a stab at this in early August. Watch this space!:worship:

Hello,
Have done all the bolts etc but its still jammed fast. Is it just a case of keep pulling??
Many thanks
Adrian

Many thanks,
Had all the bolts off just didn't want to break anything. Sprayed grease down the seam of bumper n wing then gave it a bang with my hand from wheel arch side knocking forwards. Bumper fell straight off. I think it was just 9 years of accumulated dirt stopping the bumper from sliding forwards. Now headlight looks a simple job with replacement arriving from scrappy/breakers (£30), bit better than the quoted £594!
Just the wishbone n leaking damper to do. Wish I was brave enough to attempt timing belt!
