I recently changed my radio in my Fiat 500 2014 to a new Xtrons double din head unit and discovered that my mileage was flashing. Having checked loads of sites and forums there seems a lot written about how to fix it namely disconnecting the battery terminal, carrying out a proxy alignment etc but none seem to work, I therefore had an auto electrician carry out the diagnostics and do the proxy alignment but he was unable to resolve it. He did warn me that it probably wouldn't work and he was right but said he is aware of some sort of module that plugs into the back of the radio and tricks the car into thinking there's nothing missing. Does anyone know about this and where I might get it? He did say that he thought it was around £100

It'll be the CANBUS box that gives you steering wheel controls, should have been included with the radio.

I'm fighting the same issue with a Hikity unit, proxy alignment doesn't resolve it. I'd followed all steps to remove the blue and me from the car's config, before physically removing it.

From what I've read, the CANBUS emulation box presents itself in a similar fashion to a blue and me unit, hence the car can't reconcile the configuration.

May be worth a look at this video but haven't had any luck myself yet, mine is still intermittently flashing

For what it's worth I've set mine to Medium and after a couple of ignition on and off, it's not flashing. Can't imagine it'll stay fixed but definitely in the right area

Do you mean no2?
I've got a different brand unit and my options are low, medium, high. 2 equalling medium isn't implausible. Haven't had any other guidance from the Abarth FB group beyond trying these settings and multiple proxi alignments.

Did you get anywhere with this? I was testing a few bits in the car last night and have also done a couple of short journeys since. Don't want to be too optimistic but changing to Fiat 2007, and then the medium setting on mine, presumably 2 on the numeric equivalent, has done the trick.

I might be. I have gone back to Xtrons and they suggested the same thing along with changing a setting in the car type but neither have worked. However they said that it might be a duff CAN bus and they are going to be sending one out to me. Will let you know

Well, now resolved.
After replacing a new can Bus from Xtrons- it didn’t work, however, their suggested method of going onto the car info app then selecting the option of 2, disconnecting the ground terminal for 20mins, did. So I’m not sure whether it was the replacement can bus or the method they suggested, but it worked. For now, hopefully.

Good stuff, mine's been solid on the 'Medium' setting since I changed it.

Frustratingly the CANBUS box means you can't reassign steering wheel controls but the lower-left one serves to trigger 'Hey Google' when on Android Auto mode, so all good there. The call and source buttons on the right seem to do the same thing and they're all in-built sources, rather than apps.

And within the week, having admired it this morning, it's now started flashing again. Can't be bothered to plug it in to multiecuscan but oh joy. Hope you have more luck

No I’ve not. After all the procedure of fitting the new canbus plus disconnect and reconnecting then resetting the time and date -which all went fine, it’s back flashing again. I’ve gone back onto Xtrons who have asked me to try a slightly different approach so I’ll let you know

Got a notification for this thread - I re-scanned using MES and had a convergence error. Ran one more proxi and touch wood, it's been fine for 3 weeks.

I’ve been back and forward with XTRONS who have sent me files and different procedures but still no luck. Still trying tho. Did you remove the BluenMe completely by the way?

Yes, followed the three step process to decode it from the car, then disconnected the battery and physically removed it.

Installed an Xtrons IA7250FLCS to a 2010 Fiat 500 and disconnected the blue & me module. After several proxi alignments all was ok but canbus would error on multiecuscan as pictured.
After selecting canbus number 36 all Fiat’s in the Xtrons settings menu and then manually mapping the steering wheel controls, mileage continued to flash.
Then finally went into Xtrons ‘car info / resolve flashing odometer’ app then option 2 and after a few power cycles it’s fixed the issue and no more flashing mileage and all is good with the Xtrons unit 👍😁🎶🚗
