Hello,

Just wanted to ask about tyre sizes.

I currently have 215/65/15 fitted all round. The back ones are brand new but the fronts have seen better days. They have about 100 miles or so left on them at a guess. I've found an ebay seller thats less than 5 miles away selling 4X 195/65/15 tyres for a bargain price. Can they be fitted OK on the front standard Ulysse alloys fitted to my 03 Ulysse Eleganza?

Many Thanks,
Neil.

You need to make sure they are re-enforced tyres or high load ones. Anything less will just get eaten up by the weight of the car.

Would fullly recomend fitting the exact same size because if you have a accident and the insurance notice it,it would surely void it?

But as above cheak if there reinforced!

There are plenty of tyre choices out there!

Just ask a garage to quote you on budget tyres in that size :D

i've run mine for the last 4 years on non reinforced 195/65/15 no problems at all the pre 2002 ulysse only weighs just over 1.5 tons which is the same weight as a rover 800 or ford granada, e class merc, omega and non of them use them and i've done nearly 160,000 miles in that time so if i was going to have problems i would have by now, the only thing i would say is that you make sure they are a resonable brand.(y)

Well I mention it because our 03 Eleganza ate tyres during it's first year and the solution was fitting re-enforced tyres.
The front nearside tyre is under a lot of strain while going round roundabouts and we were down to canvas on the outer edge in 10,000 miles.
So the advice has to be use re-enforced.

Thanks all. Well there has been mixed views on the subject. I always use the same brand tyres, same sizes etc but I'm down to the pennies at the end of this month (non Fiat related, hehe) so just need to go against what I would normally do for a few thousand miles. I don't want to drive on bold tyres as its silly so want to do things legally but within my budget. Just got to get the next few weeks out of the way then I can stick on some 215/65/15's again.

Hello -

I didn't realise at the time but the company I work for get discount at the place I get my tyres from which managed to bring the tyres I need into my price range. So thankful to the tyre fitters down there and their help. My Ulysse has still got 215/65/15 all round. Thanks for all your help too (y)
