during the snow my wipers seemed to have changed their cycle and now instead of stoping at the bottom of the windscreen they come to rest in the middle of it. any help would be aprreciated?

also. my exhaust has blown and i was considering using gum to seel it temporarily. the break is caused by rust on the seam of the silencer. would that be advisable ? and if not any other help would be good
thanks

driving today and the silencer fell right off so no use using putty now :S

will have to get it done at a garage

haha, this exact thing happened to me in an old Vectra I had!
I had the putty in the car and was going to pick up my mate before I did it and it decided to snap in half on North Anderson drive :(

Hope it don't cost you too much for a replacement!!

with the wipers can you not just pull the linkage off the motor reset them and just put it back together as im sure its a multi cog type thing so easily to reset where it sits

the wiper could be a relay problem, are they sweeping the screen as normal? if they are then taking them off to reset them will make them sweep off the windscreen!!!!

if its just where they are stopping thats the problem, look in the areas of relay and/or multitimer

just back from garage and got a new back box installed for £80 . is that reasonable?
going to go have a look at wipers, the guy in the garage suggested that the motor was on its way out.
thanks

get one from the scrappy and try it bud, only one way to find out:p

ok, so i removed the cap from the wiper spindel and undid the nut, but the wiper just wont come off, i think i need to take them off to acces the motor?
and help ?
thanks

ok great will give it another shot tomorro. thanks for the help. i already tryed curse words, and i have a feeling il be trying them again tomorro. :)

Regarding the wiper problem, it's worthwhile reseting the wiper arms to the rest position at the bottom of the window. Once the cap and nut are slackened off try pulling the wiper up off the window and give a shoogle, it should lift off it's seat on the tapered spline spindle. Then reset to the bottom of the window, and re-fix the nut and cap. good luck!

great, thanks for all the help every one. will get on it this weekend and tell you how it goes.

hot the wipers off no problem this time, now im stuck getting the plastic cover off to acces the motor, any tips ?
thanks
