And so we start again, this is day one of the sleeper build

The only mod on the outside will be the wheels, and the change from a 2ltr hlx front bumper to a lowly 1.6 bumper and 1.6 badges.

and even more unsuspecting aircon pump

got to squeeze this in there somehow

don't need this bit.
PIC049.jpg

Well that wasn't to difficult, was it?
PIC051.jpg

that's a bit more subtle

and this is the throttle-body's new home

Cool subscribed, :D
Is there anyroom to put the supercharger behind the block? like that pic I posted the other day. (Unknown engine) The position and the way the top of the charger goes straight into the intake looks clever to me.

Probably enough room, but there would be no chance of getting a drive belt to it, plus I need to go from the supercharger to an intercooler then into the turbo and then another intercooler, although I might just go straight from the SC to the turbo and use the nitrous or co2 to cool the charge.

Re: TwinCharged Marea STi

Looks like I'v been tangoed......lol
a quick mockup of the intake, it's a bit tight past the top hose

two hours later and we have a rough fibreglass intake pipe, now it just needs to be made pretty

And the dastek which will hopefully controle everything

i dont really know anything about superchargers but you may want to revise your choice of turbo.

you can make things easy for yourself if you go for a TB28 turbo (the one from the coupe not the 200sx) as you will be able to get a manifold thats already available and a downpipe all very easlily, hell, you can even use the SMIC and pipe work.

unless your plan was to use the supercharger to spool the turbo?

Ry

Yes , the plan is to use the SC to spool the Turbo.
I'v lookd at the coupe manifold, and your right it would make life easyer, but I dont think ther's enough room for the coupe turbo setup and the SC, but I haven't discounted it yet.
dont suppose you'v got a spare manifold (even a cracked one) lying around?

i'm afraid i sold my cracked one on, you can get a tubular manifold for £200 or a normal one for £100-130

what boost level does the SC put out?

Ry

6psi, good for about 200bhp, the plan is to use this engine as a test bed, then replace it with a coupe engine, but use all the NA fittings as it were,

just wondering if you run them both at the same time, the turbo will end up pushing air back into the SC rendering it useless....

dont forget to fit 20vT injectors & fuelpump otherwise you get the same problem, the boost level will prevent any fuel coming out of the injectors lol

Ry

Nice poject! If you want to get the most out of turbo/supercharger then you'll need to change pistons and/or run a decompression plate (unless you go straight to the turbo engine).

Forget the Unichip, for this type of project it will cause you more problems than it can handle.
