twin cam engines by type

Hi ,
Does anyone know if the engine blocks are the same on the old 8v 2l engine as the later 2l 16v engine and turbo engine? As want to mount an x19 gearbox to a turbo 16v engine

I think they're close enough for that. BUT I really can't see the X19 gearbox surviving.

Are you talking about the Coupe 16v turbo 2.0 block?

Which old block are you referring to?

If you're referring to the Lampredi engine produced between the early 1960s and mid 1990s, the blocks are basically the same, but I think the oil feed for the 16v cams was in a slightly differnt position.

Several years ago I was investigating putting a 16v head on my 1986 Croma Turbo 8v and I seem to remember something didn't line up. Still have the 16v head in the garage somewhere but don't have the Croma to compare it with anymore.
