Just thought I’d share my experience.
Had my renewal through from Adrian Flux the other month. Just before i was going to renew i had an incident in the work van. Due to the claim being unsettled and having no set value it pushed my policy renewal up by ~£50.

The end of the policy coincided with my holiday and I wouldn't need my car for two weeks so i left it un-insured in the garage.
Called Adrian Flux today to renew it and prepared to be shafted for the pending claim and they informed me i can't renew as my policy expired >5 days ago.
Put me through to new business and started again. Same brokers, same car, same details apart from a pending claim (assumed my fault) of £4,000. (pesky cyclists!).
New policy came in £10 cheaper than the renewal prior to the accident and £60 cheaper than the renewal after the pending accident.
+ I’m no longer with Highway and i get TPO cover on any car.
The guy at AF explained how as a 'new' customer I’m allowed to be quoted by more companies and I’m not locked into existing deals.
Because my policy started when i was 22 i wasn't allowed to drive other cars and this would have rolled through forever.
So, to sum that up. Even when your with a top company like AF it pays to have a break or phone around, especially when you're a the deciding ages of 21 / 25.
£289.00 TPFT for a fully modded Cinquecento!
