Hi can anyone give us some help? I am desperately looking for the short, straight bit of hose that comes out of the turbo that then joins a metal pipe. It is about 4 - 5 inches long and about 2 inches in diameter (roughly). We haven't taken it off the car yet,but I have lost air pressure. You can see that it has split, I don't know what it is called or even if it has a name! as I have tried a few places that just say it is no longer available. If anyone knows where to get one or what it is called or the correct dimensions of it. Thanks.:bang:

Hi thanks, looks like I will have to get it taken off to get the measurement I need, had a look through ebay but couldn't see any unless I buy a samco kit. Do you have any ideas as to where to try and get hold of it?:)

I'd love a car with all clear pipes :D
And maybe some extra watertight pipes with swooshy colour-died water in them for extra effect that did nothing but look good.
And a UV light in the engine bay.
And a games console.
And a 32" HDTV for a windscreen, with a fisheye lens on so you could see everything outside.

Clearly, the pipes would dirty up over time, but I think it would look interesting.

Brilliant idea Ucof (y)

Clear silicone radiator hoses - to show all the green liquid swooshing through - could be made UV-sensitive too so that the hose itself glowed. The reinforcement fibres in the hose would be a nuisance, so they could be left out.

The best place for the LCD screens is in the sides of the front bumper. That way, people on the footpath get to watch what you're watching. I learned about that on Pimp My Ride. :) uCof you should really also check out Pimpstar wheels - search on YouTube for Pimpstar dub wheel promo.

As for the actual topic of the thread, I had to replace my turbo outlet hose a while ago. The Samco hose wasn't available in exactly the right size, so I had to buy one that was slightly too small - 38mm? (it was a really tight fit but silicone spray to the rescue...)

I saw that car.
It is my favourite least-favourite car that they ever did.

I wonder what happens to the people's car insurance after being on PMR:

"Hi, I've had a few modifications made to my car and I was wondering if it will affect my policy."
"Certainly sir, what modifications have been made?"
"Quite a few, it was on Pimp my ride."
"Oh.. right. well, I assume they have just done the usual? Y'know a lawn on the roof, a smoothie maker in the boot, a fold out full length bowling alley and £50k's worth of ICE, whilst not improving the alarm system, the locks, the windows... or in fact any of vehicle's security aspects?"
"Well, yeah....and it also turns into a submarine."
"Pardon?"
"yeah like James Bond's car... oh, and there is also another car inside my car."
"Pardon?"
"Well, X-zibit heard that I like driving, so he put a car in my car, so I can drive whilst I drive.. coughcoughyo'dawg..."
<click>
"Hello?... Hello?"

Oh dear, I seem to have strayed horribly off topic.

Yes you ARE off-topic - and YOU started it :nono: We'll get told-off soon :(

I must admit, I've only ever seen a couple of episodes of Pimp My Ride (on overseas TV, usually in South Africa ) and the UK version is a great joke. As we've seen on this forum, where one of our members owned the green Panda. I note that he's now re-shelling an Uno Turbo, so obviously a pimped ride isn't all it's cracked up to be

I have never seen clear silicone hoses, though you can get clear vinyl tubing in a large-enough size, I almost feel game enough to try that as cooling system hoses on my Uno, just to see how it looks (y)

You could have a clear dizzy cap like you can get for air cooled V-dubs too, then you could see sparks AND swooshy water.

You could put some goldfish in the coolant system too, then they`d match your disco Stu shoes...

*that was a joke @ animal rights people, I dont advocate mincing animals in water pumps, so dont try that at home*

On a serious note, if you have an undersize hose to fit, only use silicone based lube. If you use anything oil based (WD40, oil etc) it will drastically reduce the life of the hose.

I may be wrong (its been a while!) but is this hose stepped?

IIRC the outlet in the turbo is smaller than the OE steel boost pipe..?
