The 1.4 uno turbo engine will go in but requires serious inner wing mods plus lots more to make it fit.
It cost a forum member in the region of £3000 for an uno turbo conversion
some handy info here re: the 1.4
and is reputed to ruin the handling of the cinq/sei.
great in the straghts but terrible in the corners

The punto GT engine whilst very similar to the uno sits a little higher so would need even more work!

Whilst you are doing the sums for a turbo conversion don’t forget the implications on insurance!

Taken from the link custard gave you :)

How do you know the guy doesn't have the skills and the cash to do this? just because other people have not been very succesfull doesn't mean he wont be.

Sure it might screw the handling but he might be prepared to compromise for that for the extra straight line speed and you certainly can screw a lot of power from an UT engine.

And yes there may be better options on engine choice and it could just be another blind "can i" thread but it would be nice to see another mad build

Sorry Ghost I don't know where my unchariteristic sympathy came from it won't happen again!

I must be this case of man flue that is clouding my judgement plus i'm mega grumpy as my knacked knee that means i can't drive my latest new toy, a Lotus Esprit V8:D (which incidently gave me the duff knee whilst unloading the bloody thing from the car transporter )

I am pretty confident I could have a turbo kit sorted on my Cinq for under 1k easy enough. I managed to turbo my 106 relaibly on the same budget.

So far i've spent about £500 but i'm still to pay for MS and relay board, LC-1, Oil cooler, sandwich plate and piping, stilo 1.4 16v clutch and flywheel, gt brakes, bigger wheels to fit them under, head gasket set for the engine, various gauges

and probably heaps more stuff that i've forgotten, so yea 1k - unlikely!

Brooky hehe yeah i suppose you could be first test driver lol

Turbo manifold, downpipe I can get those done for the cost of metrials.
sump I can get a boss welded on for the oil return for nothing,
then just need to decide which turbo to go for,
oil feed pipe for the turbo,
boost pipes,
intercooler
oilcooler

Thats just the basic low to high boost conversion the expensive part is whether you go for standalone management, piggyback or mf2. I am going to be going for the mf2 and sigcon route myself because the cost is low and is proven to work well will low boost setups.

There is more to add to the above list I will do that in my own thread later
