Ive just bought a P reg Punto SX75
a friend as given me the following advice , but , is it true or false ?

1 .. take off the battery leads over night , this will reset the ecu and it will "learn" how I drive.
2 .. take out and throw away the air filter cartridge as they are not needed in this country (England) and it will increase the mpg.

1... basically true. Wont make much difference though.
2.... False, especially at this time of year with all the dust and grit that gets thrown up due to all the salt and grit and muck on the road, its definately not worth removing it. A performance air filter will increase flow whilst still filtering out the dirt.
