Hi, new to this forum and to Fiats. Recently bought a 1.6 Dynamic 5dr 1.6v 02 Stilo and trying to sort out a few electrical niggles.

The trip computer does nothing at all, just had a garage look at it who thought it was the ECU that would need replacing which sounds expensive. Everything else seems to work ok on the dash however so I'm not convinced.

Any thoughts?

Welcome to the forum when you say the trip does nothing have you tried reseting it by holding in the button on the end of the r/h stalk for 5 seconds? hope this helps
Karl

Yep, that does nothing. There is no reading on the dash for the trip.

Everything else (odometer, temp, time, headlight angle etc) all work fine but there is nothing where the trip should be. Holding down the trip button does nothing either.

Is there a single fuse or a bad connection maybe?

I take it no one's had this particular prob before? Have booked it in to Fiat so will see what they have to say.

Just a thought.

Do you mean the trip, ie you reset so you can track a certain journey? Or the total cars mileage Reading?

I ask as I wonder if you think the empty space below the milege is trip computer?
if so it isn't, press the city button near gear stick and it should say city in that space,

Or I could be barking up wrong tree ;) bear in mind I'm only used to an abarth with connect nav and the colour screen in dash

Ha, no that's the the other problem, you can't switch the radio on or off, just mute it.

As far as I can tell, the display shows all the other stuff like temp, radio station, headlight angle, odometer etc.

new one on me, does the display show the radio station when you switch the radio on?

No, the odometer (total milage) is there. The trip button on the stalk does nothing and no trip miles are shown, I'm guessing its just blank where the trip reading should be. The part that says 'city' works ok too.

Just a thought.
