Hello everybody
I am new in the forum and i basically dont have a fiat vehicle, i own a Suzuki vitara with FIAT engine and transmission system, so i think that you might be the best persons to ask for some help. I am not sure which FIAT models use this engine-transmission system (1.6DDis 2WD/ 6 Gearbox) that's why i am writing under this thread. If someone knows please let know :).
I would like to hear your opinion/experience regarding an issue on my 1.6D 2WD 2015 vitara transmission system, which is a common issue, as i was told, on 2wd Fiat/Alfa/Saab/GM applications.
I had an unexpected transmission oil leakage last week and when i visited my mechanics they found out that i had a hole on the geabox. No noise or malfunction while driving. The first guess is that there is a bearing failure on the transmission axle, the gearbox has not been opened yet so i dont know what is the root of the failure. Any similar issue from anyone ?

I have a 2010 Fiat Doblo Maxi van, it sounds vaguely similar, 6 speed manual gearbox 1.6 multijet diesel FWD only.
Any of this look familiar?
Thank you for the information, from what I can see on the table above, if your car has 105 HP then i think 1.6 multijet is what i have. I am not 100% sure if these engines are equipped with the same transmission system and 6 speed manual gear box for 2WD .

Looks like a bearing failure here mine where a ball bearing escaped and made its way through the bell housing

The engine is Fiat but I couldn’t find any info on the ZNB gearbox

It seems very similar to my issue... but from the picture above it looks like we have a different gearbox. Is it yours a 6-speed manual gearbox for 2WD?
what was the solution to your problem?
Replacement of the gearbox or it was feasible to fix it ?

No that’s a completely different car

That gearbox was scrap damage to the differential gears, case and input bearing

If you can wiggle the input shaft from side, it probably not a good sign, but at the end of the day you can only assess the gearbox by stripping it down

The diesel is a Fiat 1.6 DDiS

Couldn’t find any info on the ZNB gearbox at all

My Fiat Doblo 1.6 is the 105 hp, it is all in situ with covers etc. on so not easy to check if gearbox similar for sure. I suppose if you have gearbox specialist who can get all the parts and have the casing alloy welded? But it sounds like it may be a lot easier if the the Fiat 1.6 multijet 6 speed gearbox was available and the same!
If Suuzki put a Fiat engine in their vehicles it would make sense to use the same gearbox from a cost of production point if nothing else.
As a rough guide can you look on eBay and see if their 6 speed Doblo gearboxes second hand look similar to yours.

Finally, the reason was the pin on the rod of the transmission bearings .

We are thinking of replacing the pin and the rod. But i am a bit skeptical about the tolerances, they might have been affected
and also the cone bearings...
