Chippy bans traffic wardens
A stallholder selling chips at a market faces the boot - for refusing to serve traffic wardens.
Furious Mike Hayes banned them for continually booking his customers reports The Sun.
But council chiefs have warned him he risks losing his pitch for "discriminating" against its wardens.
Dad-of-one Mike, 47, put up a sign stating "no parking attendants" but has been forced to take it down.
He said: "I won't jeopardise my business but I was always taught to stand up to bullies. They may have won the battle but they haven't won the war."
Mike has run the Tommyfield Chippy in the Tommyfield outdoor market in Oldham, Greater Manchester, for four years.
He wasn't pleased when the wardens turned a blind eye to the mayor's limo parking on double yellow lines.
Mike added: "They said he had an official waiver and could park anywhere in the borough. That really riled me.
"Since the wardens seemed able to choose who they booked I decided to choose who I served."
Oldham Council said: "Our only concern is that government legislation and market rules are adhered to."
What a legend 8)
