Tracking.

Tracking.

as far as i know there are two types, passive and active.

active - you have a key pad in your car, if you don't type a code in before you set off they ring you and ask you if the car should be moving. This has a monthly fee attached

Passive - when you find out your car has gone you ring them and they track it. No monthly subscription as they are not monitoring the car constantly.

I have no idea of actual costs though. You would have to get some quotes.

for the wheels it's about £20, make sure it's lazer tracking.

Haha, its the wheel tracking im after. Whats actually involved in the process? Thats probably one for Tom to answer...

laser tracking???

They hang a laser sight on each wheel with the steering straight, the lasers on the front wheels put a laser dot on a measure on the rear wheels. The operator can then read the measure to see where the wheels are pointing. Most places will check it for free and only charge if it needs adjusting.

I got mine done at Hi-Q in Deal.

Only paid if needed adjusting... as tracking was waaaaaay out, they altered it. Straightened up my steering wheel too afterwards as a result.

£27.50 in total.
