General Towing with an A-Frame.

Have any forumists had experience towing a 500 long distance using an A-Frame? Pretty much in the same way that one often sees small cars being pulled along by big motorhomes.

Is there a recommended version?

How & where does it fit on?

No experience personally, but would this be as a one off to transport the car from somewhere, or would you be looking to tow it regularly?

Would work quite well I would think, very light so you would hardly know it was there if you were towing with something big and if the laden weight of a 500 is less the 750kg you wont have to worry about it being braked whilst towing.

Excellent. I'll go A-Frame shopping, they seem to be available new for less than £200.

I was worried that the frame might foul the front valance area.

the strap on type are only legal for recovery work. to use all the time you need a specialist bolt on kit

i second this

my other halfs dad is a recovery driver i was looking at buying one a few months back but as he said if you get pulled by mr plod thats 3 points and a (up to) £1000 fine
