Have the battery tested, sounds like it's not holding a charge. Also to many short trips will never keep it charged. Your alternator runs the vehicle and charges the battery, the only function of the battery is to start the car.
is there a fuse on the battery ?

Possibly but we can rule that out because you did get a crank, if a fuse is blown you get absolutely nothing, nada, zip, 0. You get the idea I'm sure.

i do many long trips in the car and it didn't atually fully crank, as soon as it started to crank everything went dead and still is several hours after, normally if its a weak battery, after a few hours it will have built up enough power to at least open the door, and it didn't gentley go dead, it went dead suddenly, like someone had cut the power, which is why a asked if theres a fuse on the battery
sorted,it was the battery, down to 4 volts, jump started it fine, left it running for 10 mins and it started fine again without using the jump start, so I;ll see what its like in the moring, and the only thing it lost was the time, although the dashboard said that the stop/start was unavalible, but that doesn't bother me as i never use it, but when i tried to start it again withpout the jump after it had been running for 10 mins, even that warning had gone
so more on the saga, the cars been fine since the incident, but last night i went in it over to my sons house, id been driving for 5 mins when the dreaded gearbox sysmbol came up on the dashboard, maybe i need to say at this point that the cars a semi auto, but the car was still driving fine, i had to stop at some traffic lights when suddenly the car started reving up like mad, so much so that i had to put it into nuetral, then after a few seconds the revs went back to normal, the lights changed and off i drove, but now the gearbox light was not on but the check engine light was now on, but the car has been driving perfectly normal, so this morning i tried all the tricks on youtube to get rid of the check engine light, but none of them worked, i had to drive into the next town to collect some goods that ive ordered online,when i got back inro the car and started it the stop/start (which i never use) came up on the dashboard as unavalible, then went off almost straight away, at the first set of traffic lights i came to which were on red, the engine cut out, i started it straight away with the key, but noticed that now the check engine light had gone, came to the next set of red lights and the engine cut out again, but this time i touched the accelerator pedal and the engine started, i then noticed that the stop/start was engaged, so i turned it off and the cars been great ever since, car electrics, what a joke they are lol

That was a joke during WW2 with the Germans hoping the electrics were done by the English.
FIAT manage to even make that look good.
No point in doing anything or worrying about multiple issues until the battery is checked/replaced.
Multiple strange issues can be caused by a bad battery.
