tomtom HOME taking ages to install

Its 45 minutes and counting trying to install HOME onto my new tomtom

'Plug the USB port into computer and away you go' it said in the manual

All it is is a orange screen with a pic of a sat nav with a cable coming out of bottom (sound familiar to anyone???)

Everytime i do anything like go on a programme to do with the tomtom it says 'please wait'

really wanted to download some voices, is there something wrong??

thats what happens as soon as you put the computer cable in you get the screen with a pic of a satnav connected to a cable,also tells you not to turn of the satnav system. you can start putting things on it straight away in this state..you dont have to wait 45 minutes.

yeah i figured that out when i installed on another computer. The problem was the actual HOME page wouldnt install on my computer, its well documented on here my computer is past it a bit, once installed on another comp in the house though it worked fine
