Any one have any idea to emissions mine come in and out of them on mot just the co2 part ot has a little prob with . . . . Other prob is a little bit of rubber missing of the break hoses never seen these after owning 4 multis can any one help thanks in advance

Is it a jtd or petrol?
Just a smoke test?? So why they put a probe in exhsaust and give you a sheet with all the differen readings??

The probe is to assess the density of the smoke. That's why it's called a smoke test.

Well i ddnt know that! You learn something new everyday!
Well when my multi jtd failed mot on too much smoke i put a bottle of forte diesel engine treatment and drove it like i stoled and took it back for retest and left car on very hot with fan running on radiator.
Passed no problems
tryed all above and it failed again on co and HC max on co being 0.30 it came back 0.76 HC was 256ppm legal requiment is 200ppm any one no what this alleans is it new exhaust any ideas welcome
JTD myself so no experience of 1.6 petrol but you're obviously running a slightly rich mixture, I thought the Lambda sensors (Believe there are 2) are supposed to detect this, then ECU brings it back within parameters, do you know that the Lambda's are ok?
The other thought is that is the temperature sender working correctly as if the ECU thinks the engine is cold it will automatically richen the mixture?

Get yourself a vag cable and a copy of fiat ecu scan and check parameters

yes the engine was hot it had a good rag on the way to mot just brought a new cat and both rear boxes have noticed the car is hunting alot though as u can feel the carshakein ,,,,momme where are these parts u speak of i have found 1 lambda sensor on drivers side cant find the other though
if its hunting have you checked all the vac pipes for splits, could be sucking air in and throwing the mixture out?
where R these air pipes does any one no I cleaned all pipes running from filter and it had a greasey sort of stuff in it got a new cat and bothe rear boxs just waiting on down pipe (multiplaa ) cash point calls lol
