Hi there,

Is anyone else seriously pissed off by people who rest on the footbrake while waiting at traffic lights at night????????

Typically this sin is committed by more than just the dumb Audi brigade. In these days of high mounted brake lights it means you get three blinding orbs in your face instead of two.

And all you can do is sit there.

Regards,

Martin

Fix It Again Tony!

is annoying i admit (when u see brand new cars doing it) thing u have to remember is older cars have sh**e handbrakes, eg mine, i have to have foot on brake (got brake light on spoiler too) purely because the handbrake would risk rolling into car behind

Resting your foot on the brake can do more harm that just bothering the person behind... if your brakes are hot and you come to a halt and keep the pads pressed against the disc, the risk of warping them due to uneven thermal stress rises considerably.

I'm sure your handbrake cable can be adjusted enough to allow you to maintain the car safely stopped at the traffic lights. And if theres any problem that makes it impossible, I'm sure you shouldn't be driving the car like that because of the front/rear brake balance.

center brake lights should be made with a lower whatt bulb in in my opinion, its not like the normal ones they have to be brighter than the rear light realy but a big red light in the middle of your face, don't realy think it has to be that bright for us to notice it,
automatic car drivers are most lickly to use foot brake at lights (sorry)

Automatic drivers - that's us (in the Tino), could put the car into park but then you'd get a flash of a reversing light!

The brighter the better IMO, it lessens the chance of some moron rear ending you!

wouldn't you be pissed off equally as much if the car in front took so long to get on and off handbrake if the lights have a fast change and you missed them.
I also cnt use my handbrake, cos I pulled it out the floor today mid journey!!

So there is, but you need to put your foot on the footbrake to stop it rolling forward/backward ... blinding you [8D]
