I have just fitted Tipo window regulators to my Uno 60s. It was not to difficult. An extra hole for the top mount and a slim allen head countersunk bolt should do the trick. A small bracket for the bottom mount, at the moment I only have an oversize washer holding it. Most important, cut off the upper stop bracket, not the mount. If you don't do this, the window wont go right to the top, It misses by about 2 mm. At the moment and probably permanently I have cable tied the motor back to the door frame with s bit of sponge between the motor and the door frame.

Timing question:

I replaced the camshaft gear seal, put it all back together and the ignition timing was about 12 deg retarded. It was set to about 358. How does this happen. I never touched the distributor, lampredi engine. I thought I was a tooth out, I checked and rechecked. to find the fault, which was no power and spitting back through the carb. I thought I had a carb problem, replaced the carb with another, no change. Then I checked the timing and found the above.

Thanks - I need further education, what is aux cam timing? This is a Lampredi engine. What am I missing?

The ignition timing timing should be unaffected by what I did to the cam seal as the dist is block mounted.

I mean it is all good and goes fine now, even better after I swapped out carburettor for another exactly the same.

But I want to understand what happened here.

The auxiliary (cam)shaft runs in the block to drive the oil pump, distributor and mechanical fuel pump. This shaft is driven off the cambelt. Hence if you put it back a tooth different the ign timing will be different. This shaft does not need to be "timed" like the cam does in relation to the crank. However it is standard procedure to check the ign timing when you change the cambelt as it will most likely change.
