Technical Tipo shuted down for no reason

I was driving down the hill without pressed throtle and in 1. gear and sudenly RMP meter jumped at 3000 - 5000 RPM and car died. But I didn't hear engine, to boost RPM. It just died. Then I was driving forward with engine off for a few meters. When I started car with key, it started normaly. What was the fault ?

it's 1.4 ie, 1994 year model

Sounds random, if it is the first time this has happened I would not worry about it. If it happens often, give more details as to what happened prior to the engine cut off and maybe someone can help.

Try to recreate the same circumstances where the engine switched off, if after a few tries nothing happens then it was most likely a one off.

It was the first time that hapened. I was low on fuel and the warning light was on, althou I made 10 kilometers afterwards, to get to the gasstation. Could be air sucked into fuel pump or maybe a garbage sucked in.. I dont know. I will try to drive with full or at least 1/4 full tank. It will be healthyer for my car I think
