Ooooh real shame! Yours was a right good looker. Glad you're going to attempt a re-engine. As far as I know there are many differences between the 1.8 and the 2.0, and a better idea might be the head from a coupe 16vt
i know that there are many differences..and 2.0 is slower..but i will try to fit everything..and make it faster :yum: ..i thought that maybe someone here has done that..or knows what should i do..i will tell you if i complete everything(y)

?? 2.0 16v is slower than 1.8 16v..but i have allready done some things on that block and i will put head of 1.8 16v..which is lower so the compresion is bigger..chanals are extended, seats of valves are different,...(y)

Hi drago_tuner

Great car (y) Are you the guy with the same engine number as me? Dragan?

the 5 door 16v would hit 0 - 60mph in 7.8 sec. my 1991 white one with the very early engine spec would do it in around 7.2 sec. was pumping about 155bhp as standard. first few that came in had this spec then engine went down to 145 - 148bhp. my car was a dec 1991 model. 2nd car in the country. official launch of tipo 16v was not until jan 1992. how many were the higher spec, not sure, but it was very few. ive had several 16v's, and none come anywhere near the white one. a special car that was. why fiat messed with the engine spec, dont know. what i do know is , i miss that car a lot.

Hi Hellcat, How's the Sedici(s)? That's the twin cam 8v version of the 1.8 you got there :p That's what i've got in my '92 Tipo SX IE and it's great. 116 top speed? I'm getting about 95 if I hammer it at the moment (which was a one off to find top speed!) It definately doesn't feel quite right because acceleration is also poor and I'm trying to work out what it is. :)

what will happen if i dont put belt on those 2 "balances" if it is called like that??i know that car will be much faster but is it bad for motor??anyone done that?1.8 16v doesnt have that..some people drive races without them and thay say its ok..i dont know should i connect them?

If you're not connecting the ballencer shafts then I think it is reccomended that they are locked into position.

Their purpose it to smooth out the vibrations from the engine. People disconnect to save a small amount of power.

P.S. I really think the 2.0 16v is faster. I've looked at some other cars in that site and I don't trust it as a source anymore.

lets get this sorted once and for all. the 1.8 16v does 0-60 in 8.5 secs. the 5 door 2.0 16v does it in 7.9 sec. 2.0 ltr will top 130mph, 1.8 cannot. please stop saying 1.8 16v is faster because it says so on there. in reality, all us tipo 16 v owners know how fast the 2.0 ltr ones are. and with mileage on them, they get quicker too !!! (y)

i had my standard sedi at 142mph with 101000 miles on the clock it was j reg too. also i got timed doing a 0 - 60 and i got 5.79 seconds so i would hazard a guess that the 2 ltr would be faster
