The columbo cam is useless unless you gasflow the head. Unless a lot of work is done to the head and a higher compression is used with improved induction and exhaust, then stick with the standard cam.Hello,if you want to put the cam form 1.6 to your 1.4 and that's it.You wrong, you will also need reprogramming the ecu cause in high rpm you run out of fuel. There is a Colombo&Briani cam on the market for the 1.4 with the chip for your ecu.Anyway here are the timings of the 1.4 and 1.6 cams:
160.A1.046(1.4L) 159A3.048(1.6)
Inlet Opens 7 (24) 6
Inlet Closes 35 (76) 46
Exhaust Opens 37 (70) 47
Exhaust Closes 5 (18) 7
In () are the timming from the colmbo&briani cam,the choise is yours.....
Carb is a Weber TLDE, and is very similar on the 1.4 and 1.6. Fitting the head and carb will give you virtually no power difference. What you need to do, is gasflow the 1.4 head, skim it to raise compression, rejet the carb, fit a free flow airfilter and fit a better exhaust. Thanks, i dont have ECU
does the 1.6 head will make any diffrence?!
power,Acclarte..something?!
and i have another questiuon , if i will put an 1.6 carb will it make diffrence?
It isn't so esay to put a 1.6 engine you have to register the engine
and it is a problem =/
160.A1.046(1.4L) 159A3.048(1.6)
Inlet Opens 7 (24) 6
Inlet Closes 35 (76) 46
Exhaust Opens 37 (70) 47
Exhaust Closes 5 (18) 7
Do you happen to have cam information about the 159 A3.000 engine too? That is the 1581 cc 86 HP unit fitted on the Tempra 1600
What improvement there would be by fitting a 128 Rally camshaft? I have been told it has 24° 68° / 64° 28° and a lift 1 mm higher.
Thanks!
