Don't think so.

Its set like that to keep the emissions people relatively happy

Nope it’s a real pain. On my old 500X you could press the button on the dash and it would stay off permanently. On the Tipo you have to press it off every time the ignition is switched on.Silly idea.

Believe it's a legal requirement, as the emissions are reported on the basis that stop start is in use, so therefore it needs to be on by default.
