Tipo 1.4 ie wont start and cuts out

First of all sorry about my bad english. I read some post about this issue but I just want to be sure in something.

My problem with Tipo 1,4 ie is that the engline cuts out in the middle of the road and I get really angry then. I come to conclusion that I had to replace this device (i dont know real name) Digiplex 2 med 439a.

Can someon tell me if this should be replaced or maybe repeared in this case.

I had the same problem 3 months ago. Actually what happened to me is that while I was driving the engine went off and I couldn't turn it on again. I called the road assistance and thw car was transfered to the nearest Fiat service. Before leaving (it was night and the service was closed) I tried to turn the engine on and it actually went on. The next day I took the car to the service and I was told that the problem originated from the ECU. In particular, I was told that the ECU jamed and did not permit the engine to go on, something that could happen suddenly and not appear for a lot of time afterwards.
As it was very dangerous to drive like that I asked them to change the ECU and unfortunately had to pay 390 euros for the new ECU.

From what I know "Digiplex 2 med 439a" refers to the ECU type, which actually must be a Magneti Marelli from what I know. Mine at least was a Magneti Marelli, both the old and the new.

It could be the Fuel Pump, I had this problem when my 'Mechanical fuel pump' started to wear out/

one the car was moving it was fine, but under braking or pressing the clutch the fuel pump used to stop pumping fuel cause the revs dropped which then cut off the engine.

Also had trouble starting to.

Fuel pumps are a lot cheaper the ECU's. get it checked out.

I'm not automechanician but it seems I 'll have to learn a lot f I wanna drive my car

My car stops at at traffic lights or even when driving at highway 80 km/h;

When I consider all the symtopm that I have and you also, then I come to conclusion that it could be INGNITION INDICATOR ! That s some magnetic part that signal machine if engine is runinng or not.

But I'll see at monday if my automechanician could fix anything.

OK guys I would like to make update on my ex-problem
Mechanician replaced one cable with magnet (so called ignition indicator) and after that car work just fine !
It cost me 30€ for that cable and 10€for work.
